Movies Brokeback Mountain, Crash and Capote have been nominated for awards by two influential US bodies.

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) and the Writers Guild of America (WGA) both announced their nominations on the same day.

The PGA shortlisted the three films for its best movie, along with Walk the Line and Good Night and Good Luck.

The WGA nominated the three for best screenplay, with seven others including Russell Crowe’s Cinderella Man.

Ang Lee’s Brokeback Mountain, about a romantic relationship between cowboys, has already picked up multiple award nominations, including nods from the New York, Los Angeles and Boston Critics’ Circles.
